Dr. Franklin Lowe is currently Associate Director, the Department of Urology at St. Luke's / Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. He is Associate Professor of Clinical Urology at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Lowe received his MD and MPH degrees from Columbia. He then did his surgery and urology residency training at Johns Hopkins Hospital, before returning to New York City.

During the last 15 years, Dr. Lowe has been involved in clinical research evaluating all the medical therapies for BPH, including phytotherapies. He was Co-Chairman of the Committee on Alternative Medical Therapies for the 5th Consultation on BPH and is currently Chairman of the AUA Committee on Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Other areas that he has published extensively on include: HIV, genital gangrene, economic modeling and prostate cancer. Dr. Lowe is an Associate Editor of UROLOGY as well as being a reviewer or on the editorial board of many other journals.
