Earl's Story

In 1947, 16-year-old Earl Eskridge took an after-school job as delivery boy for the flower shop in Culver City, CA.

In 1952, 22-year-old Earl Eskridge, fresh out of the Navy, married his old boss’ daughter and became manager of Culver Center Flowers.

Over the next 50 years, Earl Eskridge prospered. His marriage blossomed, his children grew into accomplished adults with children of their own, and the flower business remained good.

In 2004, the 74-year-old Earl Eskridge became dissatisfied with the medication he’d been taking for his enlarged prostate.

On August 10, 2004, he underwent TUMT.

PROLOGUE

3. Five minutes into the procedure, Earl describes a sensation of warmth. (0:18)

6. Toward the end of the procedure, Earl reports “no pain.” (0:36)
7. Before going home, Earl jokes with Mrs. Eskridge. (0:24)

THREE DAYS LATER

8. Back in the flower shop, Earl now has a 3-day perspective on modern urology. (1:19)

9. 6 months after TUMT, Earl returns to tell his impressions. (1:11)
