Leonard S. Marks, M.D., is founding medical director of USRF. He was graduated with honors (AOA) from the University of Texas, where he received both the M.D. and Masters of Arts (Physiology) degrees in 1969. He served an internship and residency in surgery at UCLA/Harbor General Hospital. He then served on active duty as Lt. Cdr. in the U.S. Public Health Service. He was later Research Fellow at Cedars/Sinai Medical Center and Post-Doctoral Research Scholar at UCLA School of Medicine. He completed his urology residency at UCLA and was Lecturer in Urology there in 1978, following which he entered private practice in Los Angeles.
Dr. Marks is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery/Urology at the UCLA School of Medicine and also maintains a private practice in West Los Angeles. His hospital staff affiliations include Brotman Medical Center, St. John's Hospital, The Wadsworth Veterans Hospital, and the UCLA Hospital. He maintains membership in local, state, and national medical associations, as well as the American Urological Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists, and other professional societies. When not at work, Dr. Marks enjoys bike riding, skiing, photography, jazz music, and traveling with his family. He has been married for 35 years to his college sweetheart, Marilyn, and they have two children, Michelle, a graphic designer in New York City, and Steven, a software usability engineer in San Jose, Ca.
