On May 25, 2001 at the age of 53 years old, Dr. Miller passed away suddenly while jogging, leaving behind a legacy of excellence that has been summarized in a memorial tribute by Dr. Angelo Demarzo called "In memoriam: Gary J. Miller, MD, PhD" and published in Prostate 2001 Aug 1; 48(3): 128-30.
